Possible Causes
Dust or fingerprints on front sensor window, Cracked or fogged sensor cover, Faulty time-of-flight sensor module, Loose sensor cable
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the robot before cleaning the sensor window.
- Locate front sensor: Identify the small dark window or lens on the front of the robot used for distance measurement.
- Clean lens: Gently wipe the lens with a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth. If needed, lightly dampen the cloth with lens cleaner or water and dry thoroughly.
- Inspect for damage: Check the lens cover for cracks, cloudiness, or internal condensation.
- Power cycle: Turn the robot ON again and test in an open area.
- Persistent E17: If the error remains, the ToF/laser sensor module or its connection to the main board may be defective. Replacement should be performed by a qualified technician.
