Possible Causes
Side brush tangled with hair or cords, Side brush hub cracked or warped, Side brush motor shaft obstructed, Side brush motor failing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Power the robot OFF and remove it from the dock.
- Remove side brushes: Turn the robot over. On most Shark robots, side brushes pull straight off; some are held by a small screw. Remove them carefully.
- Clean the brushes: Remove hair and string from the bristles and from the hub where it mounts to the motor shaft.
- Inspect motor shafts: Check the exposed shafts for wrapped hair or debris and clean thoroughly.
- Check for damage: If the side brush arms are bent, cracked, or very loose on the shaft, replace the side brush.
- Reinstall and test: Push or screw the side brushes back on firmly. Power on the robot and start a test clean.
If E2 persists with clean and undamaged brushes, the side brush motor assembly may be defective and require replacement.
