Possible Causes
Front bumper jammed by debris, Bumper springs dislodged or broken, Bumper impact switches stuck, Internal bumper sensor wiring fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn the robot OFF.
- Check bumper movement: Gently press the front bumper in and release. It should move freely and spring back evenly across its length.
- Clear obstructions: Look for lodged debris (toys, cords, carpet edges) between the bumper and the body. Remove anything found.
- Clean bumper gap: Use compressed air or a soft brush to clean the gap where the bumper slides.
- Tap to free switches: Lightly tap along the bumper to free any stuck internal switches.
- Power cycle and test: Turn the robot back on and start a cleaning cycle.
If the bumper feels loose, uneven, or the error persists, the bumper switch assembly may need adjustment or replacement.
