Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Power off the robot and place it on a stable surface.
Free the bumper:
- Press the front bumper in and release several times. It should move freely and spring back evenly on both sides.
- Inspect the gap between the bumper and the body for lodged debris (wires, toys, dirt). Remove any obstruction carefully.
Clean bumper sensors:
- Wipe the front IR sensor windows (if visible) with a soft, dry cloth.
- Check for any damage or warping of the bumper plastic that could cause it to stick.
Test operation:
- Turn the robot back on and start a cleaning cycle. Gently tap the bumper to ensure it triggers and releases normally.
If E6 remains: The bumper switch assembly or IR collision sensors may be defective or disconnected. Internal inspection requires removing the top or front cover and is best done by a technician. Replace the bumper sensor assembly if confirmed faulty.
