Possible Causes
LiDAR turret blocked by dust, LDS motor stuck, Faulty LDS module, Loose LDS cable
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the robot before touching the LiDAR turret.
- Inspect LiDAR turret: On top of the robot, locate the rotating laser dome. Ensure no objects or stickers are blocking it.
- Clean the window: Wipe the transparent LiDAR window with a microfiber cloth to remove dust and fingerprints.
- Check rotation: Gently nudge the turret to confirm it can rotate freely. Do not force it.
- Power cycle: Turn the robot ON and listen for the faint whirring sound of the LDS motor. If silent or grinding, the module may be jammed.
- If E14 continues: The LDS module (laser + motor) or its ribbon cable may be faulty. Replacement requires opening the top cover and disconnecting the LDS from the main board.
