Possible Causes

Dust on LiDAR window, Object blocking LiDAR turret rotation, LiDAR motor failure, Loose LiDAR ribbon cable

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the robot and remove it from the dock. Do not look directly into any laser apertures at close range.

  • Inspect LiDAR turret: On mapping models, locate the round turret on top. Ensure nothing is resting on it or blocking its rotation.
  • Clean LiDAR window: Gently wipe the turret's plastic window with a soft, dry microfiber cloth to remove dust and fingerprints.
  • Check for free rotation: Gently nudge the turret to confirm it can rotate freely (do not force it). It should not feel stuck or gritty.
  • Power cycle and test: Turn the robot back on and start a cleaning or mapping run. Listen for the faint whir of the LiDAR motor.
  • If C12 persists: The LiDAR motor or sensor board may have failed, or its cable may be loose. Accessing the LiDAR requires removing the top cover and is an advanced repair. Contact Wyze support for service or replacement.
