How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the robot OFF and flip it over.
- 1. Locate tracking sensor: Find the small clear or dark window near the center underside of the robot (distinct from cliff sensors).
- 2. Clean sensor window: Gently wipe the window with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Remove any stuck-on grime.
- 3. Test on different floor: Place the robot on a matte, non-reflective hard floor and start a cleaning cycle to see if the error clears.
- 4. Internal check (advanced): Remove the bottom cover and verify the tracking sensor board is firmly connected to the main PCB.
- 5. Replace sensor module: If E17 persists and the robot cannot track its movement correctly, replace the floor tracking sensor module.
Warning: Avoid using solvents or alcohol on the sensor window; they can cloud the plastic.
