Possible Causes

Loose or corroded communication connectors, Damaged CAN bus cable between modules, Incorrect termination resistors, Faulty expansion module

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn the generator OFF and disconnect battery power before unplugging or plugging control cables.

  • Inspect CAN wiring: Locate the twisted‑pair CAN bus cable linking the Genergy controller to any expansion modules (e.g., remote display, ATS interface). Check for cuts, pinches, or rodent damage.
  • Reseat connectors: Unplug and firmly reinsert CAN connectors at each module. Look for bent pins or corrosion.
  • Check termination: Ensure that only the end devices on the bus have termination resistors installed, as specified by Genergy. Remove any extra terminators.
  • Isolate faulty module: Disconnect modules one at a time and power up to see if E22 clears. Replace the module that causes the fault when connected.
