Possible Causes
Incorrect phase wiring at generator terminals, Mis‑phased connection to ATS, Internal alternator reconnection error after service
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Work on three‑phase connections only when fully isolated from mains and generator. Incorrect phase rotation can damage motors.
- Verify phase sequence: Use a phase rotation meter at the generator output and at the ATS/load side to confirm correct rotation (e.g., L1‑L2‑L3).
- Inspect terminal connections: In the JCB alternator terminal box, confirm that phases are connected to the correct labeled terminals and match the wiring diagram.
- Check ATS wiring: Ensure the automatic transfer switch input from the generator is wired in the same phase order as the mains supply.
- Correct wiring: If rotation is reversed, swap any two phases at the generator output or ATS input (not both) to restore correct sequence.
- Reset alarm: Clear E16 and perform a test transfer under supervision.
