Possible Causes
Damaged CAN bus wiring, Loose controller connectors, Faulty expansion module, Electrical noise or grounding issues
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the generator and disconnect battery power before unplugging or plugging any control modules.
- Inspect CAN wiring: Locate the twisted pair CAN bus wires between the Kubota main controller and any remote modules. Check for cuts, abrasions, or crushed sections.
- Check terminations: Ensure that the CAN bus has proper termination resistors at each end as specified by Kubota. Missing or extra terminators can cause communication errors.
- Secure connectors: Reseat all multi-pin connectors on the controller and modules. Look for bent pins or corrosion and clean as needed.
- Grounding: Verify that the controller ground and chassis ground connections are tight and free of paint or rust. Poor grounding can introduce noise on the communication bus.
- Module isolation: If multiple modules are on the bus, disconnect them one at a time to identify a faulty device that causes E15 when connected.
