How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Ensure AUTO mode is disabled so the generator cannot crank unexpectedly. Wear eye protection when working around batteries.

  • Visual inspection: Check the battery for swelling, cracks, or leakage. If damaged, replace immediately.
  • Clean and tighten terminals: Disconnect the negative cable first, then positive. Clean corrosion from posts and clamps with a wire brush and baking soda solution. Reinstall, tightening firmly (positive first, then negative).
  • Measure battery voltage: With a multimeter, check DC voltage at the battery. A healthy, fully charged 12 V battery should read about 12.6–12.8 V at rest. Below ~12.0 V indicates a low or failing battery.
  • Check charger output: With AC utility power present, measure voltage at the battery again. It should rise to around 13.4–13.8 V if the integrated Pramac battery charger is working. If voltage does not increase, inspect charger fuses and wiring; replace the charger if faulty.
  • Recharge or replace: If the charger is working but the battery will not hold charge, replace the battery with the capacity and type specified by Pramac (e.g., 12 V AGM starting battery).
  • Clear code and test: After correcting the issue, clear E03 on the controller and perform a manual start test.
