Possible Causes
Brine tank completely out of salt, Severe salt bridging, Brine tank overflow and flush-out, Disconnected brine line
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use gloves when handling salt. Avoid breathing dust from poured salt.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Refill salt: If the brine tank is empty, add several bags of appropriate water softener salt. Avoid rock salt or products with high insoluble content.
- 2. Break and remove bridges: If a hard crust is present with little salt below, break the bridge and remove large chunks. Ensure loose salt is in contact with water at the bottom.
- 3. Verify brine line connection: Confirm the brine line is securely connected to both the Marlo valve brine fitting and the brine well in the tank. Tighten compression fittings as needed.
- 4. Force a regeneration: After correcting salt issues, initiate a manual regeneration to recharge the resin bed.
When to replace parts: If the NoSalt indication is from a sensor and it remains active despite proper salt level, replace the Marlo salt level sensor.
