Possible Causes

Failed indoor cross-flow fan motor, Blocked fan wheel, Faulty fan speed feedback (Hall sensor), Loose fan motor connector on PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before removing the indoor cover or touching the fan.

  • Check filter and coil: Dirty filters or a clogged evaporator can overload the fan. Clean filters and gently vacuum the coil fins.
  • Inspect fan wheel: Look through the front opening to see if the cross-flow fan is clogged with dust or foreign objects. Remove debris carefully.
  • Test fan operation: Restore power and set the fan to HIGH. If the fan does not spin or starts then stops, the motor or its feedback sensor may be faulty.
  • Access fan motor: Remove the front cover and side panels as needed to reach the fan motor. Check that the motor connector is firmly seated on the indoor PCB.
  • Spin test: With power off, rotate the fan wheel by hand. It should spin freely without grinding. Stiffness indicates bearing failure.
  • Replace motor if needed: Install a compatible AEG indoor fan motor assembly (often supplied with the fan wheel). Ensure correct wiring and secure mounting.
  • If E8 remains: The indoor PCB fan drive circuit may be defective and requires professional service.
