Possible Causes
Corrupted firmware on indoor PCB, Failed EEPROM chip, Voltage spikes damaging memory, Incorrect replacement PCB not matched to model
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Switch off power at the breaker before opening the indoor unit.
- Power reset: Turn off power for at least 15 minutes to fully discharge the PCB. Restore power and test. Sometimes transient memory errors clear with a long reset.
- Check supply stability: Ensure the AC supply is within the voltage range specified on the AEG rating plate. Avoid using undersized extension leads on portable units.
- Inspect PCB: Remove the PCB cover and look for signs of burning, moisture, or insect damage around the memory IC.
- Firmware cannot be user-repaired: If F0 persists, the indoor PCB typically must be replaced or reprogrammed by an authorised AEG service centre.
- Order correct PCB: Use the full model and product number to obtain the correct AEG indoor control PCB. Installing an incorrect board can cause further errors.
