Possible Causes
Failed panel/ambient NTC sensor, Loose sensor connector, Sensor cable damaged behind fascia, PCB sensor input fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing the front panel.
- Locate ambient sensor: On many AEG wall units, a small sensor is located near the air intake grille or behind the front panel, separate from the coil sensor.
- Check mounting: Ensure the sensor is not hanging loose or touching hot components. It should be in the airflow path.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the sensor wires to the PCB. Look for pinched or cut insulation. Reseat the connector.
- Test sensor: Measure resistance with a multimeter and compare to expected NTC values. Replace if open or shorted.
- Replace sensor: Fit a compatible AEG ambient temperature sensor and secure it in the original location.
- If F1 persists: The indoor PCB may be faulty and should be replaced by a technician.
