Indoor unit displays E7; outdoor fan does not run or runs erratically; system may overheat and shut down.

Safety: Turn off power at the breaker and lock it out if possible. Outdoor fan blades are sharp; wear gloves and eye protection.

Steps:

• 1. Visual inspection: Remove the outdoor unit top or side panel to access the fan. Check for debris (plastic bags, leaves, branches) blocking the fan.
• 2. Manual rotation: Try to spin the fan blade by hand. It should rotate freely. If stiff or jammed, the motor bearings may be seized.
• 3. Check wiring: Locate the fan motor connector on the outdoor PCB. Ensure it is fully seated and not burnt. Inspect the cable for cuts or UV damage.
• 4. Test operation (advanced): With covers in place and using caution, restore power and start the unit. Observe if the fan attempts to start. If it hums or jerks but does not spin, the motor is likely faulty. Turn power off again before touching anything.
• 5. Replace fan motor: Remove the fan guard and fan blade (note orientation). Unbolt the motor from the mounting bracket. Install a compatible Airwell outdoor fan motor, reattach the blade, and reconnect the wiring.
• 6. PCB check: If a new motor does not run and E7 persists, the outdoor PCB fan driver may be defective and require replacement.
• 7. Final test: Reassemble the unit, restore power, and run in cooling mode. Confirm stable fan operation and no E7 code.
