Possible Causes
Loose connection between display board and main PCB, Faulty display PCB, Damaged communication cable between boards, Voltage surge damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before removing any covers.
Steps:
- 1. Access display board: Open the front panel and remove the decorative cover to expose the display/receiver board.
- 2. Check connectors: Locate the ribbon cable or small harness connecting the display board to the indoor main PCB. Reseat both ends.
- 3. Inspect for damage: Look for cracked solder joints, burnt components, or moisture on the display board.
- 4. Test remote reception: After reseating connectors, restore power and test remote control operation. If F7 persists, the display board may be faulty.
- 5. Replace display board: Order a compatible Airwell display/receiver PCB for your model. Swap the board, transferring any IR receiver window or LED light guides as needed.
- 6. If still faulty: The indoor main PCB may have a communication fault and require replacement.
