Possible Causes
Tripped breaker or blown fuse, Faulty indoor main PCB, Defective remote control or IR receiver, Incorrect wiring between indoor and outdoor units
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before opening any covers. Use a non-contact voltage tester to confirm power is off.
Steps:
- 1. Check power supply: Verify the breaker is ON and not tripped. Reset if necessary. Check any local isolator switches near the outdoor unit.
- 2. Test remote: Replace remote batteries. Point the remote at a smartphone camera; pressing a button should show a flashing IR LED on the camera screen.
- 3. Check indoor display: If the indoor unit has no lights or response, the indoor PCB may not be receiving power. Inspect the indoor terminal block for loose wires (with power OFF).
- 4. Inspect fuses: Some Airwell PCBs have onboard fuses. With power OFF, visually inspect and test fuses with a multimeter. Replace only with identical ratings.
- 5. IR receiver board: If the unit responds to manual buttons but not the remote, the IR receiver/display board may be faulty and require replacement.
- 6. Professional diagnosis: If power and remote are good but the unit still will not start, the indoor PCB or communication with the outdoor unit may be faulty and needs a technician.
