Possible Causes
Drifted room temperature sensor, Sensor located in poor airflow area, Heat sources near sensor, Faulty indoor PCB ADC circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before accessing the sensor or PCB.
Steps:
- 1. Compare temperatures: Use a reliable room thermometer placed away from the unit to compare with the displayed temperature.
- 2. Inspect sensor placement: Ensure the room sensor is in the return air path and not touching the coil or metal parts.
- 3. Clean dust: Dust on the sensor can insulate it. Gently clean the sensor with a soft brush.
- 4. Replace sensor: If readings are consistently off by several degrees, replace the room temperature sensor with a compatible Airwell NTC.
- 5. PCB issue: If a new sensor does not correct the error, the indoor PCB's measurement circuit may be faulty and require replacement.
