Short Cycling / Control or Sizing Issue
Indoor unit frequently turns on and off (short cycling) without reaching the set temperature.

Possible Causes
Oversized air conditioner for room size, Thermistor placement causing false readings, Dirty filters or coils, Incorrect temperature setpoint or mode
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before accessing sensors or PCB.
Steps:
- 1. Verify settings: Ensure the unit is not in Dry or Auto mode with a high setpoint that could cause frequent cycling.
- 2. Clean filters and coils: Dirty components can cause rapid temperature swings near the sensor.
- 3. Check room sensor location: Ensure the room sensor is not directly in the cold air stream or touching the coil. Reposition slightly if necessary so it senses room air.
- 4. Avoid heat sources: Do not place heat-generating devices (TVs, lamps) directly under the indoor unit.
- 5. Sizing issue: If the unit is significantly oversized, short cycling may be unavoidable. Consider using a lower fan speed or consulting an HVAC professional about zoning or resizing.
