Possible Causes

Locked control panel (child lock), failed keypad membrane, loose ribbon cable to control board, defective display board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing the front panel.

Steps to restore control response:

  • Check for lock mode: Many Amana units have a lock function. Press and hold the Lock or a specified button combination (see manual) for several seconds to unlock.
  • Power reset: Disconnect power for 5 minutes, then restore and test the controls.
  • Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the front panel and check the flat ribbon cable between the keypad/display and main board. Reseat both ends.
  • Replace display board: If the cable is good but controls remain dead, replace the user interface/display board with the correct Amana part.

Do not spray cleaners directly on the control panel; moisture can damage the keypad membrane.
