• Check airflow paths: Ensure furniture, curtains, or covers are not blocking the front intake or discharge louvers. For portable units, verify the exhaust hose is not kinked and the window kit is properly installed.
• Verify indoor fan operation: With the unit reassembled and powered, run in fan-only mode. Listen for abnormal noises and confirm strong airflow. If the fan does not run or is weak, inspect and replace the indoor blower motor or blower wheel if seized or damaged.
• Thermal overload: Some Arctic King models monitor internal temperature and shut down if overheated. After cleaning and ensuring good airflow, allow the unit to cool for 30–60 minutes, then restart.
• Persistent E8: If E8 continues after airflow issues are corrected, the internal overload sensor or main PCB may be faulty. Replacement of the main control board or associated sensor is recommended, typically by a technician.
