How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power. For window units, ensure the chassis is supported before removing the outer shell.
Steps to fix F3:
- Access condenser: Remove the outer casing to expose the rear condenser coil.
- Locate sensor: Find the thermistor attached to the condenser tubing or fins.
- Inspect and secure: Make sure it is firmly clipped and not corroded. Reseat the connector on the PCB.
- Test sensor: Measure resistance and compare to spec. Replace the condenser temperature sensor if faulty.
- Board replacement: If a good sensor does not clear F3, replace the main control board.
