Possible Causes

Full internal condensate tank, Blocked condensate drain, Stuck float switch, Faulty water level sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off and unplug the unit before draining water.

Steps to clear F5:

  • Drain the tank: Move the portable unit to a location where water spillage is acceptable. Remove the drain plug or cap at the bottom rear and drain water into a shallow pan.
  • Check float switch: Open the lower rear panel (if accessible) and locate the float or water level switch. Ensure it moves freely and is not stuck by slime or debris.
  • Clean drain path: Use a small brush or pipe cleaner to clear any blockage in the drain port and tubing.
  • Sensor check: If the float is free but F5 remains, test the water level switch for continuity as you move the float. Replace if it does not change state.
  • Reassemble and test: Reinstall the drain plug securely, reassemble panels, and restart the unit. If F5 persists, the main PCB input for the level sensor may be faulty and require board replacement.
