Possible Causes
Blocked outdoor condenser coil, Faulty outdoor fan motor, Overcharged refrigerant circuit, Faulty high-pressure switch or sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off power at the breaker before working near the outdoor unit. Do not open the sealed refrigerant circuit yourself.
- Step 1 – Check airflow around outdoor unit: Ensure at least 30–50 cm clearance on all sides and above the outdoor Ariston condenser. Remove leaves, plastic bags, or debris blocking the grille.
- Step 2 – Clean condenser coil: With power OFF, remove the outdoor top or side cover as needed. Use a soft brush or low-pressure water spray from inside out to clean dust and dirt from the fins. Avoid bending fins.
- Step 3 – Verify outdoor fan operation: Restore power and run the unit in cooling. Observe the outdoor fan. If the fan does not start or runs very slowly, turn power off and check the fan blade for obstructions. If free, the fan motor or its capacitor may be faulty and should be replaced.
- Step 4 – Reset and test: After cleaning and ensuring the fan runs, reset power and test again. If E02 returns quickly, the system may be overcharged or have a defective high-pressure switch.
- Technician tasks: A certified technician should connect gauges to check refrigerant pressure, verify charge level, and test/replace the high-pressure switch or pressure sensor on the outdoor unit.
