Possible Causes

Open or shorted evaporator NTC sensor, Sensor dislodged from coil, Corroded sensor connector, Faulty indoor PCB sensor circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the indoor unit cover.

  • Step 1 – Access evaporator sensor: Remove the front panel and filters. Carefully remove the plastic covers to expose the evaporator coil. The sensor is usually clipped to the coil tubing.
  • Step 2 – Check sensor position: Ensure the sensor is firmly clipped to the coil surface. If it has fallen away, reattach it securely to the designated clip point.
  • Step 3 – Inspect wiring and connector: Follow the sensor wires back to the indoor PCB. Check for damage and ensure the connector is fully inserted.
  • Step 4 – Replace sensor if faulty: If the sensor body is cracked or the wires are damaged, replace with the correct Ariston evaporator NTC sensor.
  • Step 5 – Test operation: Restore power and run the unit. If E06 reappears, the indoor PCB may need replacement by a professional.
