Possible Causes
Stuck or obstructed louver blades, Faulty louver stepper motor, Broken louver linkage, Faulty indoor PCB louver drive circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the unit and disconnect power before manually moving louvers.
- Step 1 – Check for obstructions: Open the front panel and inspect the swing louvers for foreign objects (toys, plastic, dust buildup). Remove any obstruction gently.
- Step 2 – Manually move louvers: With power OFF, gently move the louvers by hand to feel for stiffness. They should move smoothly. If jammed, inspect the side pivots and linkage arms.
- Step 3 – Inspect louver motor: Remove the lower front cover to access the louver motor on one side of the unit. Check the motor connector and wiring.
- Step 4 – Test after reset: Restore power and press the SWING button on the remote. If E11 reappears and louvers do not move, the motor is likely faulty.
- Step 5 – Replace louver motor: Replace the louver stepper motor assembly with an Ariston-compatible part. If a new motor does not resolve the issue, the indoor PCB may be defective.
