Possible Causes

Failed outdoor fan motor, Faulty fan capacitor (on AC motor models), Obstructed fan blades, Faulty outdoor PCB fan driver

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before working on the outdoor unit.

  • Step 1 – Inspect fan blades: Remove the top grille and check for debris or bent blades. Clear any obstruction and straighten minor bends carefully.
  • Step 2 – Spin test: With power OFF, rotate the fan by hand. It should move freely. If stiff, the motor bearings are likely worn.
  • Step 3 – Check capacitor (if fitted): Many non-inverter Ariston units use a start/run capacitor for the outdoor fan. Inspect for bulging or leakage. Replace with the same µF rating if suspect.
  • Step 4 – Wiring check: Ensure the fan motor connector is secure on the outdoor PCB.
  • Step 5 – Replace fan motor: If the motor does not run even with a good capacitor and correct wiring, replace the outdoor fan motor with an Ariston-specified part.
