Possible Causes

Blocked outdoor condenser coil, Failed outdoor fan motor, Low refrigerant charge causing overheating, Faulty discharge sensor reading high

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Isolate power before working on the outdoor unit. Refrigerant circuit must not be opened by unlicensed persons.

Steps:

  • 1. Check airflow: Ensure nothing blocks the outdoor coil (leaves, plastic bags, dust). Maintain at least 30–50 cm clearance around the unit.
  • 2. Clean condenser coil: With power off, gently brush or vacuum the coil fins. For heavy dirt, use a low-pressure water spray from inside out, avoiding the PCB.
  • 3. Verify outdoor fan operation: Restore power and run cooling. Confirm the outdoor fan starts and runs at normal speed. If it does not start, the fan motor or capacitor may be faulty.
  • 4. Check for repeated E06: If E06 returns quickly even with clean coil and working fan, the system may be low on refrigerant or have a compressor issue. This requires a certified refrigeration technician.

Do not bypass safety: E06 protects the compressor. Continued resets without fixing the cause can lead to compressor failure.
