Possible Causes
Blocked condensate drain line, Stuck or faulty float switch, Failed internal drain pump, Kinked drain hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before working near water and electrical components.
Steps:
- 1. Check drain outlet: Locate the condensate drain hose and ensure it is not kinked, elevated too high, or blocked.
- 2. Clean drain line: Use a wet/dry vacuum at the drain outlet to suck out sludge and debris. Flush with clean water if accessible.
- 3. Inspect float switch: Open the indoor unit's drain pan area. Check that the float moves freely and is not stuck by dirt or algae. Clean the pan and float.
- 4. Test pump (if fitted): Pour some water into the drain pan and restore power. The pump should start and remove water. If it does not run, the pump may be faulty.
- 5. Replace faulty parts: Replace the float switch or drain pump with Baxi-approved components.
