- 2. Check outdoor unit: Ensure the outdoor fan and compressor are running. Look for heavy ice build-up on the outdoor coil.
- 3. Defrost cycle: If the outdoor coil is iced, the unit should enter defrost periodically. If it never defrosts, the defrost sensor or PCB may be faulty.
- 4. Mode test: Switch briefly to COOL mode and back to HEAT to see if the reversing valve shifts (you may hear a click).
