Possible Causes
Clogged condensate drain line, Misaligned or cracked drain pan, Poor installation slope of indoor unit, Blocked drain outlet or trap
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off the unit before working around water and electrical parts.
Steps:
- 1. Check drain hose: Locate the condensate drain hose exiting the indoor unit. Ensure it slopes downward continuously and is not kinked.
- 2. Clear blockage: Use a wet/dry vacuum at the drain outlet to remove sludge and algae. You can also gently blow compressed air from the outlet back toward the unit.
- 3. Inspect drain pan: Remove the front cover and filters. Check that the plastic drain pan is not cracked and is seated correctly under the coil.
- 4. Level check: Use a spirit level to confirm the indoor unit is slightly tilted toward the drain side as per Baxi installation instructions.
Note: Persistent leaks after cleaning may require pan replacement or reinstallation of the indoor unit.
