Possible Causes

Open or reversed communication wiring between indoor and outdoor units, Loose terminal screws at indoor or outdoor connection block, Electrical noise or interference on communication line, Failed indoor or outdoor main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Danger: Communication wiring carries mains-adjacent voltages in many split systems. Turn off the main breaker and verify power is off before touching terminals.

  • 1. Power cycle: Turn off power to both indoor and outdoor units for 5–10 minutes, then restore power. If E6 returns, continue.
  • 2. Check interconnecting cable: Remove the indoor and outdoor terminal covers. Verify that the numbered terminals (e.g., 1–2–3 or L–N–S) match exactly between indoor and outdoor units.
  • 3. Tighten terminals: Gently tug each wire; if any move, loosen and re-tighten the screw clamps. Ensure no copper strands are exposed or touching adjacent terminals.
  • 4. Inspect cable: Look along the cable route for damage from nails, rodents, or UV exposure. Replace the cable if insulation is cracked or if conductors are damaged.
  • 5. Check polarity (if applicable): Some Beko models require correct polarity on communication terminals. Ensure wires are not swapped.
  • 6. If wiring is correct and intact: The fault may be on the indoor or outdoor PCB. At this stage, professional diagnosis with live voltage measurements is recommended.
