Possible Causes
Defective outdoor coil/defrost sensor, Sensor not properly attached to coil, Outdoor coil heavily iced due to low ambient and humidity, Defrost control failure on outdoor PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before accessing the outdoor unit.
- 1. Inspect outdoor coil: Check for heavy ice buildup. If the coil is encased in ice, allow the unit to defrost naturally by turning it off.
- 2. Locate defrost sensor: Usually clipped to the outdoor coil tubing. Ensure it is firmly attached and not dangling.
- 3. Clean around sensor: Remove ice and debris around the sensor so it can accurately sense coil temperature.
- 4. Replace sensor if faulty: If the sensor is physically damaged or tests open/shorted, install a new Beko defrost/coil sensor.
- 5. If F5 persists: The outdoor PCB defrost logic may be faulty and require professional replacement.
