How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing the control panel.
- Dry moisture: If the panel was exposed to water or condensation, gently dry the surface and allow the unit to sit unplugged for several hours.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the front bezel and access the control panel. Check the ribbon cable connection between the keypad and main PCB. Reseat it firmly.
- Clean contacts: If corrosion is visible on connectors, clean gently with contact cleaner and a soft brush.
- Replace keypad/board: If specific buttons never work or require excessive pressure, the keypad membrane or entire user interface board may need replacement with a Black+Decker-compatible part.
