Display shows H1 and the unit may run in a defrost-like mode or limit cooling.

Safety: Unplug the unit before cleaning or accessing internal parts.

• Check room conditions: Ensure the room temperature is within the operating range specified by Black+Decker (typically above 60°F/16°C).
• Clean filter: Remove and wash the air filter with mild soap and water. Dry completely before reinstalling.
• Inspect evaporator: Remove the front cover and check for ice buildup on the evaporator coil. If iced, allow the unit to thaw completely and then restart.
• Verify airflow: Make sure supply and return vents are not blocked by furniture or curtains.
• Sensor check: If H1 persists in normal conditions, test the evaporator sensor and replace if it is reading incorrectly.
