Possible Causes
Shorted compressor windings, Shorted fan motor, Faulty inverter or power module on main PCB, Damaged wiring harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit. This fault involves high-voltage power electronics; do not attempt advanced testing without proper training.
- Visual inspection: Remove the rear or side panel and inspect the main PCB for burnt components, cracked solder joints, or melted connectors.
- Check wiring: Inspect compressor and fan motor wiring for shorts to ground or between conductors. Repair any damaged wiring.
- Basic isolation: A technician may disconnect loads (compressor, fan) one at a time to determine which component is causing overcurrent. This should not be attempted by untrained users.
- Component replacement: If a shorted motor or compressor is identified, it must be replaced. If the power module on the PCB is damaged, the entire board is typically replaced.
