• Check drain plugs: Inspect the rear lower and upper drain caps. Ensure they are properly installed and not cross-threaded or missing.
• Level and tilt: For window units, ensure the unit is slightly tilted toward the outside so water drains outdoors. For portable units, ensure they are on a level surface.
• Clean drain channel: Remove the rear panel and locate the condensate tray and drain outlet. Use a small brush or pipe cleaner to clear any slime or debris.
• Inspect drain pan: Look for cracks or damage in the plastic drain pan. If cracked, the pan or entire lower housing may need replacement.
• Continuous drain hose: If using a hose, ensure it is securely attached, slopes downward, and is not blocked.
