Possible Causes

Shorted IPM module on outdoor PCB, Overcurrent event stored in memory, Shorted compressor, Poor heat sinking of IPM

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: This is a high-risk inverter fault. Do not attempt board-level repairs without proper training.

Steps:

  • Power reset: Turn off power for at least 15 minutes to clear temporary IPM protection. If H5 returns immediately, hardware damage is likely.
  • Visual inspection: Check the outdoor PCB for burnt components around the IPM and power section.
  • Compressor test: With power off, test compressor windings for shorts as described under E6.
  • Replace PCB: If compressor tests good, replace the Blaupunkt outdoor inverter PCB. If compressor is shorted, both compressor and PCB may need replacement.
