Possible Causes

Open or shorted evaporator NTC sensor, Sensor dislodged from coil, Damaged sensor wiring, Faulty indoor PCB sensor input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power before accessing the coil area.

Steps:

  • Locate coil sensor: Remove the front cover and filters. The evaporator sensor is usually clipped to the coil tubing.
  • Reattach sensor: If the sensor has fallen away from the coil, reclip it firmly to the copper tube in the original position.
  • Inspect wiring: Check for pinched or cut wires leading from the sensor to the PCB. Repair or replace as needed.

If F1 persists: Replace the evaporator temperature sensor. If a new sensor does not resolve the error, the indoor PCB may be defective and require replacement by a technician.
