Possible Causes
Blocked outdoor condenser coil on Camry outdoor unit, Faulty outdoor fan motor or fan capacitor, Overcharged refrigerant or non-condensables in system, Defective high-pressure switch or sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the outdoor isolator. Do not attempt to open the refrigeration circuit yourself.
- 1. Clean condenser coil: Remove debris, leaves, and dirt from the outdoor coil. Use a soft brush and low-pressure water from inside out if accessible. Avoid bending fins.
- 2. Check outdoor fan operation: Restore power and observe the outdoor fan when the unit starts. If the compressor runs but the fan does not, turn power off and inspect the fan motor wiring and capacitor.
- 3. Inspect fan blades: Ensure the fan blade on the Camry outdoor unit is not obstructed, cracked, or loose on the shaft.
- 4. Verify airflow clearance: Ensure at least the manufacturer-recommended clearance (typically 30–50 cm sides, 1 m above) around the outdoor unit for proper airflow.
- 5. Professional checks: If E3 persists after cleaning and confirming fan operation, a technician should check refrigerant charge, high-pressure switch, and outdoor PCB control of the fan and compressor.
Warning: Do not bypass or short any pressure switches; they are critical safety devices.
