Possible Causes
Failed outdoor fan motor on Camry condenser, Faulty fan capacitor (for AC motors), Loose or burnt fan wiring, Defective outdoor PCB fan relay or drive circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate power at the outdoor isolator before removing the top or side panels.
- 1. Inspect fan blades: Check that the outdoor fan blade is not obstructed by debris and that it is firmly attached to the motor shaft.
- 2. Check wiring and connectors: Verify that the fan motor leads are securely connected to the outdoor PCB or terminal block and that there are no signs of overheating.
- 3. Test capacitor (if fitted): For non-inverter Camry units with a separate fan capacitor, discharge the capacitor safely and measure its capacitance. Replace if more than ±10% out of rating.
- 4. Power-on observation: Restore power and command cooling. If the compressor runs but the fan does not start, or starts slowly and then stops, suspect the motor or capacitor.
- 5. Replace motor if needed: If the motor windings are open/shorted or the shaft is seized, replace the outdoor fan motor with a Camry-compatible part.
Warning: Do not operate the unit with the outdoor fan disabled; this can quickly damage the compressor.
