Possible Causes
Clogged condensate drain line, Algae or slime in drain pan, Improper unit leveling, Cracked drain pan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn OFF power before working around water and electrical components.
- Step 1 – Inspect drain pan: Remove the front cover and check for standing water in the pan.
- Step 2 – Clear drain line: Use a wet/dry vacuum on the drain line outlet outside to remove clogs. Flush with water and a mild bleach solution if allowed.
- Step 3 – Level the unit: Ensure the indoor unit is slightly tilted toward the drain outlet.
- Step 4 – Check for cracks: Inspect the drain pan for cracks or separations. If damaged, the pan or entire indoor chassis may need replacement.
- Step 5 – Consider drain pump: If a condensate pump is used, verify it runs and discharges water properly. Replace if failed.
