Possible Causes
Incorrect indoor-outdoor wiring sequence on Chigo terminals, Mixed indoor unit types on a multi-split system, Faulty indoor PCB sending invalid mode commands, Incorrect DIP switch or address settings on indoor PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power to the entire system before adjusting wiring or switches.
- Step 1 – Confirm model compatibility: Check that the indoor and outdoor units are designed to work together (same series and capacity range) according to Chigo documentation.
- Step 2 – Verify terminal mapping: Ensure that terminal 1 on the indoor unit goes to terminal 1 on the outdoor unit, 2 to 2, etc. Correct any cross-wiring.
- Step 3 – Check DIP switches / address settings: On some Chigo models, indoor units have address or mode DIP switches. Verify they are set according to the installation manual, especially on multi-split systems.
- Step 4 – Reset system: After corrections, power down for 5 minutes, then restart and test.
- Step 5 – PCB replacement: If E7 remains and wiring/settings are correct, the indoor main PCB may be sending invalid commands and should be tested or replaced by a technician.
