Possible Causes
Failed DC indoor fan motor, Faulty indoor fan motor driver circuit on PCB, Jammed blower wheel in Chigo indoor unit, Loose fan motor connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and wait a few minutes before opening the indoor unit.
- Step 1 – Check for obstructions: Remove the front cover and filters. Inspect the blower wheel for foreign objects (plastic, paper, insects) that may block rotation. Remove any obstructions.
- Step 2 – Spin the blower by hand: Gently rotate the blower wheel. It should spin freely without grinding. If it is stiff, the indoor fan motor bearings may be failing.
- Step 3 – Inspect wiring: Locate the fan motor connector on the indoor PCB. Reseat the connector and check for damaged wires.
- Step 4 – Test motor: On DC motors, a technician can measure supply voltage from the PCB to the motor when the fan is commanded on. If voltage is present but the motor does not run, replace the motor. If no voltage, suspect the PCB.
- Step 5 – Replace faulty parts: Replace the indoor fan motor or indoor PCB with genuine Chigo parts, matching the model number.
