Possible Causes

Failed discharge NTC sensor on Chigo compressor, Sensor detached from discharge line, Damaged sensor wiring harness

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power and wait for the compressor to cool before touching any piping.

  • Step 1 – Locate discharge sensor: It is usually strapped or clipped to the small-diameter discharge pipe leaving the compressor.
  • Step 2 – Inspect mounting and wiring: Ensure the sensor is firmly attached and that insulation is intact. Repair any damaged insulation.
  • Step 3 – Measure resistance: Disconnect the sensor from the outdoor PCB and check resistance. Compare to the Chigo chart. Replace if open, shorted, or out of range.
  • Step 4 – Replace sensor: Install a new compressor discharge temperature sensor and secure it with the original clip or strap.
