How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power before cleaning. Wear gloves and a mask if you are sensitive to mold.

  • Step 1 – Clean filters: Wash filters thoroughly with mild detergent and dry completely.
  • Step 2 – Use coil cleaner: Apply a no-rinse evaporator coil cleaner suitable for split AC units to the indoor coil following product instructions.
  • Step 3 – Clean drain pan and blower: Wipe the drain pan and accessible parts of the blower wheel with a diluted disinfectant solution.
  • Step 4 – Run in fan mode: After cleaning, run the unit in Fan mode for 30–60 minutes to help dry the coil and reduce odor.
