How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn OFF power to the air handler before opening the blower compartment.
- Inspect blower wheel: Check for contact between the blower wheel and housing. Adjust the wheel position on the shaft and tighten the set screw.
- Check motor bearings: Spin the blower wheel by hand. If it feels rough or squeals, the motor bearings are worn and the motor should be replaced.
- Inspect belt (if present): On older Coleman units with belt-driven blowers, inspect the belt for cracks or glazing. Replace and tension properly.
- Clean blower assembly: Remove dust buildup from the blower wheel and housing to reduce noise and improve balance.
