Possible Causes
Failed indoor blower motor, Open blower capacitor, Blower relay failure on Coleman control board, Broken blower belt (if belt-driven)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn OFF power to the air handler at the breaker before opening the blower compartment.
- Check blower settings: Set thermostat fan to ON. If no airflow, proceed with inspection.
- Inspect blower assembly: Remove the blower access panel. Look for a broken belt (older units) or debris obstructing the blower wheel.
- Test capacitor: Locate the blower capacitor, discharge it, and test its value. Replace if out of spec.
- Check motor wiring: Ensure all motor leads are securely connected to the Coleman control board or contactor.
- Motor test: If the motor hums but does not start, or is hot to the touch, it is likely failing and should be replaced with a Coleman-approved blower motor.
Note: Match motor horsepower, speed, and rotation to the original specification.
