Comfortmaker
Condensate Drainage Failure
Water leaking from indoor Comfortmaker air handler or from ceiling near air handler

Possible Causes
Clogged condensate drain line, Blocked or cracked drain pan, Improperly sloped drain, Failed condensate pump (if equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power to the air handler to prevent electrical hazards around water.
Steps:
- Locate drain line: Find the PVC drain exiting the Comfortmaker air handler.
- Clear blockage: Use a wet/dry vacuum at the outside drain termination to suck out clogs. You can also flush with warm water and a small amount of vinegar.
- Inspect drain pan: Remove access panel and check for cracks or rust holes. Replace pan if damaged.
- Check slope: Ensure the drain line slopes downward away from the unit.
- Condensate pump: If present, verify it runs and discharges water. Clean or replace if failed.
Note: Some Comfortmaker systems have a float switch that will shut off cooling when the pan fills; clearing the drain will restore operation.
